August Updates and Events


Back to school means back to scouting!  We hope all of our scouting families have had a wonderful and relaxing summer.  We are busy planning a fun calendar of exciting activities for all our Cub Scouts.  Be sure to check out the calendar link for a of upcoming meeting dates.

Pack Picnic
Saturday, August 26th

Morrison Park, Agoura Hills
Here's a chance to catch up with all your Cub Scout friends and enjoy some yummy food and fun games.  Meet at Morrison Park in Agoura Hills.  We will have a potluck lunch (sign up via Evite).  Then stay for fun and games.  This event is for the whole family.  Hope to see you there!

Rocket Academy Event
Sunday, September 10th

Our third annual Rocket Academy event is right around the corner.  Please invite your friends and neighbors to come and see how much fun scouting can be.  We will make several kinds of air powered rockets and share some rocket treats, too!  Please sign up here to help out with this event.

Online Registration is coming!
Pack 227 is going digital.  This year we will be participating in the BSA online registration program and collecting dues through PayPal.  Watch your email for more information coming soon.

Pinewood Derby



Pack 227 will hold its annual Pinewood Derby race this Saturday, March 25th.  
The derby will take place at St. Max in O'Reilly Hall.
Arrive at noon to check in your car.  
Hot dog meals ($6/each) will be available for purchase from Jersey Dogs.
With over forty cars racing, it's important that we start on time!  
The derby should end between 2-3 pm.

Mad Science Show, Catered Dinner, Awards and Special Guests
$6/per person

Shooting Sports Party
The scouts voted and chose a shooting sports party as the reward for their successful First Aid Kit fundraiser.  This event will take place on Sunday, February 26th, from 12:30-4:00pm at Camp Josepho.  Scouts will enjoy a pizza lunch and then an afternoon of BB Guns and Archery.  We'll end the party with songs, skits and s'mores around the campfire.  Remember to bring your new s'mores sticks!  This event is FREE for scouts.  $20 per participating sibling.  Sign up online.

January Updates and Events


Lots of fun in store for Cub Scout Pack 227 in 2017.

Flag Ceremony at Agoura Hills City Hall
Wednesday, January 11th.  5:45-6:15 pm
Full Class A Uniforms
All Scouts who have participated in City Council flag ceremonies will be recognized by the mayor and council members at the Blue an Gold banquet.  If you have not yet participated, please be sure to sign up this month or next!  It's very special for the boys to receive recognition from their city leaders.

Den Meetings
Thursday, January 12th.  7-8pm
The Webelos I den will be meeting off site at Fire Station 89.  Other dens will meet at St. Max.

Pack Meeting
Thursday, January 19th.  7-8 pm
We will be kicking off our Pinewood Derby preparations at this meeting.  Learn what makes a fast car and sketch out your ideas.  All scouts will receive a free car kit to take home.  Siblings may also participate in the derby for a $10 fee which includes the car kit and race entry. 
Please be sure to wear your full Class A uniform to the meeting.  We will be taking photos for the Blue & Gold banquet.

Santa Comes to Agoura Food Drive
Food donation collection day is Saturday, November 12th

Bring non-perishable food items for donation.

Uniform Inspections
Thursday, November 17th during the Pack Meeting

First Aid Kit Fundraiser
All money is due at the Pack Meeting on 11/17/16.
Bring cash or checks made payable to BSA Pack 227.
Scouts will receive one raffle ticket for each kit sold. 
Sell 10 kits and get two extra raffle tickets.
The raffle will be held at the Pack Meeting.
If you can't attend the Pack Meeting, please arrange to turn in your money 
and get your raffle tickets BEFORE the meeting.   
We still have a few kits left if you'd like to sell more!
